Sometimes referred to as the magic bag of tips and tricks or sometimes a Mary Poppins’ bag, a doula has everything she could need while attending a birth in her bag. We carry lots of things that can help our birth clients stay as comfortable as possible during their labor. So what is in the doula bag? A question we hear often, and something new doulas wonder about a bit when they first go into doula work. While every doula has their own individual trusted items, there are some staples. Here are some of the items you’ll find most commonly in a doula bag and what some of our doulas use!
For Use During Labor
TENS unit- helps with back pain during labor
Oil Diffuser and Essential Oils:
Clary Sage for contractions
Citrus for energy
Mint for nausea
Lavender/floral for relaxation
Personal Care items such as chapstick, lotion, hair ties, scrunchies, headbands, deodorant, etc
